Have you ever thought of running a workshop?

I have been running workshops for some time now - mostly in slide guitar techniques, but this could extend to finger-picking styles also. These workshops can be brief 1 hour workshops or can be a day depending on your interest. Obviously, what is covered in a day is different to that covered in an hour

Day Workshop

Morning - a look at the instrument for slide, bottlenecks, picks etc and tunings used in bottleneck style slide guitar. The remainder of the morning is learning a tune in the open key of 'G' incorporating simple licks that can be found in a number of different tracks by different artists.

Afternoon - learning a tune in the open key of 'D', again incorporating simple licks that are used in a variety of tracks in this key.

Workshops can also be adapted for the individual participants and, where possible, if there is a more advanced player then I will try and bring in some alternative techniques for them. As you will appreciate, depending on the size of the workshop, this is not always possible.

Tablature for the tune will be available free of charge for the tune learnt during the course of instruction. There will also be the chance for participants to purchase further tablature and mp3 recordings for further study.
